About the position

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position is a senior technical leadership role within the National Life Group IT Shared Services team. This role focuses on leading infrastructure design and integrations, driving continuous improvement in infrastructure ecosystems, and ensuring operational excellence. The individual will collaborate with various stakeholders to implement technology strategies and enhance system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and enhancement of CICD, SRE, and APM tools.
  • Drive implementation of the technology direction, vision, and strategy.
  • Lead delivery as a subject matter expert in pipeline configurations and code repository management.
  • Assist in incident resolution and business issue resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels within the company.
  • Identify and manage capacity, performance, and risk.
  • Promote firm Change Management and Problem Management policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with Application performance tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrixed, outsourced organization.
  • Ability to mentor technical staff and raise collective competencies.
  • Ability to manage change and cope with complex situations.
  • Expertise in at least two technical areas such as Swagger Hub, SonarQube, Jfrog, GIT, New Relic, Splunk, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Java, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with Pipeline Technologies (CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
