About the position

The Senior Engineer will join the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team at Atlassian, focusing on scaling Cloud services and enhancing the Caching infrastructure that supports the company's suite of Cloud products. This role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, and a commitment to improving reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency in Cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed software in production.
• Build monitoring systems, tweak dashboards, define alerts, and write runbooks.
• Analyze and improve services and processes for higher reliability and performance.
• Mentor and coach team members in technical skills and best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience operating high-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed software in production.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with public cloud offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Strong backend engineering experience in Java, Go, or Python.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in caching solutions, strategies, and best practices.
• Experience in microservice architecture.
• Experience building web-services and clients using REST/GraphQL.
