About the position

A client with Kforce is seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to join their team in Cincinnati, OH. This position is responsible for providing high-level consulting services to clients, focusing on the design, planning, and supervision of the implementation of complex, large-scale system projects. The Senior Snowflake Data Engineer will review, analyze, and modify programming systems, which includes encoding, testing, debugging, and installing for a complex, large-scale computer system. Additionally, this role involves assisting in supervising the daily activities of project team members, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet client expectations. The ideal candidate will maintain current knowledge of industry issues and opportunities, as well as best practices for specific areas of expertise. They will leverage their industry knowledge, technology, process, and organizational design expertise, along with financial services best practices, to deliver results for clients with the goal of improving profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of data analytics, business intelligence, and technology optimization, among other areas, to effectively address client needs and challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and supervise implementation of complex, large-scale system projects.
• Review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and installing for a complex, large-scale computer system.
• Assist in supervising the daily activities of project team members.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry issues and opportunities as well as best practices for specific areas of expertise.
• Leverage industry knowledge, technology, process, and organizational design expertise to deliver results for clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent/above) in Computer Science, Information Technology.
• Very strong on SQL; Must have 5-7+ years of experience working with SQL on large scale datasets.
• At least 5+ years of experience in Cloud based Data Engineering with design, implementation and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions on AWS.
• At least 4+ years of experience in Snowflake architecture, design, implementation, and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions on Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse.
• At least 4 years of production grade coding experience.
• Experience with PySpark/Hadoop and/or AWS Glue ETL and/or Databricks with python is preferred.
• Must have 1+ years of experience in deploying IAC code via Terraform.
• Proficient with Python programming language.
• Experience on ETL development life cycle, best practices of ETL pipelines, and thorough work experience on data warehouse using combination of Python, Snowflake & AWS Services.
• Expert in one or more of the following areas: data analytics, business intelligence, sales and service, business productivity improvement, revenue enhancement, technology optimization, organizational design, marketing excellence, financial service payments, financial service channel optimization or strategic planning.
• Good understanding of industry, associated business challenges and opportunities for particular area of expertise.
• Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated research, writing and analytical skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Astronomer Airflow.
• Familiarity with Cloud Architectures/solutions in AWS.
