About the position

The Senior Social Media Manager for Allrecipes is a key member of the digital editorial team responsible for managing and enhancing the brand's social media presence. This role involves overseeing content creation across various platforms, ensuring high engagement and traffic to the Allrecipes site. The manager will lead a team of Social Media Editors, collaborate with various departments, and develop creative strategies to grow audiences and promote content effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Allrecipes' social media channels, posting a high volume of videos and photos daily.
• Coordinate with editorial and programming teams for in-depth on-platform storytelling.
• Grow audiences on Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms while increasing social referral traffic to the site.
• Stay updated on social media trends and propose new strategies as appropriate.
• Manage a team of two Social Media Editors, delegating tasks and fostering their career growth.
• Collaborate with sales on sponsored content and execute related projects with staff and freelancers.
• Use metrics reporting tools to create reports detailing social traffic and engagement.
• Oversee and approve production of all social content.
• Ensure an editorial calendar with a mix of content that promotes website stories and drives engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of digital/social experience, preferably with travel media experience.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Strong management skills in time, priorities, and people.
• Strong knowledge of food media and an interest in food, cooking, and recipes.
• Experience with social media scheduling apps.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working on sponsored content.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with video content creation and editing.
• Familiarity with analytics tools for social media performance tracking.
