About the position

The Senior Social Media Manager will drive Hadassah's social media strategy and play a key role in developing policies for the national organization. This position involves managing daily activities across Hadassah's social media platforms, leading trainings for volunteers, staff, and leaders, and contributing to the creation and refinement of social media policies. The Senior Manager will recalibrate strategies based on analyzing metrics, provide monthly reports and recommendations, and work with key staff to develop and implement dynamic campaigns. Additionally, the Senior Social Media Manager will manage and help plan the organization's social media calendar, ensuring that all content aligns with the organization's goals and messaging. In this role, the Senior Social Media Manager will research, plan, and execute multimedia social campaigns, both organic and paid, while relying heavily on analytics and evolving nonprofit best practices. The manager will represent the organization externally on social media taskforces and collaborations, develop crisis communications for social platforms, and track and report on the performance of campaigns to ensure departmental goals are met. Crafting compelling narratives across different channels and training staff to enhance their social media presence are also key responsibilities. The Senior Social Media Manager will produce, publish, and share daily social content that builds meaningful connections and encourages targeted audiences to take action. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to expand the impact of new initiatives and promote community outreach is essential. The manager will also create digital guidelines, training materials, and conduct workshops to improve the performance of units and chapters across the country. Staying up to date on platform audience behaviors and trends is crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan and execute dynamic multimedia social campaigns (organic and paid) in collaboration with key staff.
  • Represent the organization externally on social media taskforces and collaborations.
  • Develop crisis communications for social platforms as needed in real time.
  • Track and report on performance and results of campaigns and initiatives to ensure goals are met.
  • Identify, develop and implement strategies to nurture and grow Hadassah's social communities.
  • Craft compelling narratives across different channels.
  • Train and develop social media presence for Geographic Areas staff.
  • Create digital guidelines, training materials, workshops, and templates.
  • Produce, publish and share daily social content that builds meaningful connections.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to expand impact and reach of new initiatives.
  • Manage and curate the social media calendar, adjusting as news unfolds.
  • Train national staff and volunteer leaders and maintain digital guidelines.
  • Support Marketing & Communications Division with proofreading, research, writing and editing.
  • Draft and update organizational policies, including national social media policy.
  • Stay up to date on platform audience behaviors, interactive trends and best practices.
  • Engage and respond to followers while brainstorming new ways to encourage social conversations.
  • Assist with department projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years marketing and communications experience, with 3+ years in social media marketing management.
  • 3+ years of experience with Facebook Business Manager and Facebook Ads Manager.
  • Experience with design applications such as Photoshop and content creation tools like Canva.
  • Experience leading social media training and supporting admins and moderators.
  • Digital expert who can translate analytics into effective social campaigns.
  • Experience utilizing community management tools (e.g., Sprout Social) and listening tools (e.g., TweetDeck).
  • Experience creating optimized video for social using editing software or apps.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with social media landscapes relevant to Hadassah's social presence, such as Jewish communal world, women's rights, Israel and Zionism.
