About the position

The Senior Software/Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a data platform that supports operational management processes for a leading company in the entertainment industry. This hybrid position based in Orlando, FL, involves tracking and analyzing guest flow, including monitoring visitor interactions with attractions and facilities. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor to project needs and team practices, serving as a high-level technical resource.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a data platform to assist with operational management, wait time estimation, and facility insights.
• Track and analyze guest flow, including monitoring the number of visitors per hour and their interactions with attractions and facilities.
• Contribute to the custom-built platform from the ground up, ensuring it meets the needs of efficient operation.
• Collaborate with the existing core team and integrate with mobile, web, and cloud core components.
• Bring a broad skill set to the team, with a willingness to work across various aspects of the platform.
• Engage in ongoing development and enhancement of the platform's features and functionalities.

Requirements

• Bachelors and/or Masters in STEM or equivalent in relevant experience.
• 6+ years of coding and software development experience, with a focus on highly scalable, high-volume applications and/or platforms.
• Experience with AWS serverless development and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, stream processing.
• Strong understanding of microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Strong expertise in design principles, patterns, and coding best practices.
• Familiarity with database platforms (e.g. Aurora), NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB), graph databases, and mobile applications (iOS and Android).
