About the position

As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of delivery technology and enhancing the customer and driver experience. You will work within a team focused on embedded, mobile, and wearable devices, contributing to the development of low-latency, real-time applications in constrained environments. This position requires collaboration across various teams and levels of the organization, including senior executives, product management, and engineering teams, to deliver innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Articulate and champion the product vision and development timeline across various teams and geographies.
• Leverage knowledge and experience to deliver technology solutions and maximize the potential of individual engineers.
• Mentor and lead engineering teams in design and architecture of new and existing systems.
• Develop multi-threaded mobile applications and optimize performance for iOS and Android platforms.
• Communicate effectively with users and technical teams to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.
• Expert knowledge of iOS/Android architecture, performance optimization, and security.
• Experience in mobile app development using Swift/Kotlin.
• Strong UI skills for iOS and Android applications.
• Experience in building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
• Ability to manage projects from scoping requirements to launch.
• Experience working with applied scientists.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• Knowledge of machine learning.
