About the position

The Senior Software Developer / Architect for Factory Automation at INFICON is responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that enhance factory automation processes. This role requires expertise in C# and .NET, focusing on creating robust software that integrates analytics with customer-specific automation systems. The position involves architectural design, development, integration, collaboration with cross-functional teams, testing, optimization, and documentation, while also providing technical leadership and mentorship to other developers.

Responsibilities

  • Design software architecture for efficient communication between analytics software and customer automation systems.
  • Lead development efforts using C# and Oracle PL/SQL to create robust software modules for factory automation.
  • Integrate analytics software with customer automation systems, ensuring compatibility and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define interfaces.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Continuously optimize software components for performance and resource utilization.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation including architectural diagrams and user manuals.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (at least 5 years) as a Software Architect or Senior Software Engineer.
  • Proficiency in C# programming language and Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Experience with software integration, particularly integrating analytics software with automation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
