Fusion Applications (FA) is Oracle's leading SaaS offering of several critical business applications like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and many more. The enterprise-grade application suite serves as one of the focal points of Oracle's business value. While Fusion Applications has been a huge success, the basic architecture is based on an on-premise, Fusion Middleware stack that has not changed since its inception. We are the Fusion Applications Technical Architecture team and have been tasked with defining the next generation architecture (codename Spectra) based on cloud-native principles running in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The migration from a monolith to a modern cloud-based micro-service architecture opens new avenues to work with a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies and OCI services. It will also mean instituting better processes and practices as we transform to a software as a service development model that includes following industry-standard developer workflows, CICD pipelines, safe deployment practices, cloud-based automated testing, DevOps culture, etc. As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will own the software design and development for major Backend components of Spectra UI Infrastructure Services. You should value simplicity and scale, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, mentor junior engineers, and always be excited to learn. You will participate in high-level design and architecture discussions, build and manage microservices that are performant, resilient, and self-healing, and work with cloud-native technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. You will also contribute ideas for continually improving the team's productivity and code delivery, perform thorough code reviews, and follow best engineering practices with performance, scalability, resiliency, and security as key tenets. Knowledge of OCI is a plus. Additionally, you will analyze and debug issues, including bugs, customer issues, and performance issues, and participate in various planning, backlog grooming, and technical design reviews, all while collaborating and contributing in an inclusive and diverse environment to continuously build a healthy work culture.
