About the position
The Senior Software Developer Engineer in AWS Security Assurance is responsible for building customer trust by ensuring AWS exceeds security and compliance expectations. This role involves designing and developing services that withstand scrutiny from regulators and security-sensitive customers. The position requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to influence projects across multiple products, enhance security monitoring, and streamline compliance audits, all while maintaining high engineering standards and mentoring junior developers.
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code with thorough test coverage while mentoring other developers.
- Engineer systems for 'Amazon Scale' and ensure continuous resiliency and capacity testing.
- Design highly available, secure, distributed systems of microservices and consult with peers and technical leaders to improve them.
- Work on Agile projects with high visibility, making continuous improvements to planning, design, implementation, testing, and operations processes.
- Take full ownership of the systems built, operating them based on real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
