About the position

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for participating in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a focus on mainframe and web applications. This role involves conducting code reviews, writing reports on code analysis, and providing guidance to development staff. The developer will collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Conduct extensive code reviews and analysis
• Write reports on code analysis, ensuring industry standards and best practices
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to existing development staff
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical staff

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development, building production software systems
• 5+ years of experience with IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS
• 5+ years of experience with IBM DB2 for z/OS
• 5+ years of experience with MVS/JCL
• 5+ years of experience with data integration and data quality
• 5+ years of experience with Software AG's NATURAL
• 5+ years of experience with complex application security requirements
• 2+ years of experience with Texas CPA Statewide Financial Systems (USAS, USPS, SPRS, TINS, HRIS, SPA)
• 2+ years of experience with Agile development (Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products

• Experience with CICS Web Services
• Experience with CONTROL-M for z/OS
• Public sector experience (Federal, State, or Local Government)
• Experience designing and implementing secure RESTful web services
• Experience with code reviews and in-depth code analysis
