About the position

The Senior Software Developer at Scientific Research Corporation plays a crucial role in developing software products for the U.S. Navy's Tactical Mobile Aircraft Interface and Applications team. This position involves creating Government off The Shelf (GOTS) software solutions to support the P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Reconnaissance Aircraft, ensuring effective data analysis and mission execution for Navy warfighters.

Responsibilities

• Act as a member of the U.S. Navy Tactical Mobile Aircraft Interface and Applications team.
• Develop AIA GOTS software products for the U.S. Navy TacMobile organization.
• Support Fixed sites, Tactical Operations Centers (TOC's), Mobile TOC's (MTOC's), and Expeditionary Program of Record (POR) ground support systems.
• Ensure offloading of aircraft mission sensor data files and provide tools for post-mission data analysis.
• Contribute to the Navy's ability to conduct effective Maritime missions globally.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5-10 years of software development experience with projects or programs.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret impacts to development products based on changes in documentation.
• Experience working in a DevSecOps environment.
• Proficiency in programming languages: C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL.
• Experience with math/signal processing and mapping products.
• Ability to parse and process large amounts of sensor data in various formats.
• Familiarity with JSON, XML, and protocol buffer data formats.
• Ability to work well in a small team environment and adjust to changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in front-end and back-end design and development.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with Atlassian Suite (BitBucket, JIRA, Bamboo), Artifactory.
• Knowledge of secure software development and information assurance.
• Experience with Docker and Podman.
• Experience in developing software product help documents.
• Familiarity with DISA Application Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Experience performing code reviews using static source code analysis tools (e.g., HP Fortify).
• Knowledge of Windows/Windows SL/Linux/Redhat Operating Systems.
