This hybrid role at Redfin requires employees to work from our headquarters in Seattle, WA every Tuesday and Wednesday, while allowing remote work on all other days. Redfin is at the forefront of revolutionizing the $75 billion real estate industry by utilizing data, innovative software, and design to prioritize customer needs throughout the home-buying and selling process. As part of the Partner Experience team, which is dedicated to supporting Redfin Partner, you will play a crucial role in developing software that connects Partner agents with customer requests, manages a custom CRM for agents, and provides various tools for program management staff. This position offers a unique opportunity to have a technical leadership role that significantly impacts the success of thousands of Partner agents and hundreds of thousands of customers. In this role, you will be responsible for developing responsive, resilient, scalable, and high-quality software using technologies such as React, Java, and Postgres. You will need to balance the trade-offs between complex infrastructure investments and quick, pragmatic solutions to meet specific business needs. Collaboration is key, as you will work with both engineering and non-technical stakeholders to define, design, and lead the development of significant multi-person projects. Additionally, you will mentor and guide other engineers, providing technical leadership and advocating for best practices while staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain innovative and competitive.

Responsibilities

• Develop responsive, resilient, scalable, and high-quality software using React, Java, Postgres, and various other tools/libraries.
• Balance trade-offs between complex infrastructure investments and quick, pragmatic solutions to meet specific business needs.
• Collaborate with engineering and non-technical stakeholders to define, design, and lead the development of significant multi-person projects.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, providing technical leadership and advocating for best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure solutions are innovative and competitive.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience specifically in React and Java.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of how to leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity is highly desired.
