About the position

The Senior Software Developer - Studio in the Cloud role at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure involves solving complex technical challenges and contributing to the development and operation of cloud services tailored for the animation, film, and game development industries. The position focuses on designing, implementing, and operating cloud services that facilitate the migration of production pipelines to the cloud, with an emphasis on scalability, availability, and compliance with industry standards. This individual contributor role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Design cloud services for availability, scalability, observability, and testability.
  • Implement, validate, and document services and their component microservices.
  • Collaborate within the engineering team to deliver and operate cloud services for production workflows in the cloud.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation.
  • Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve the technical vision of the team.
  • Engage with geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience in large/enterprise scale software development, particularly with cloud services and distributed systems.
  • Domain knowledge in media production workflows and pipelines, including digital asset management and familiarity with 3D frameworks.
  • Experience collaborating with geo-distributed teams.
  • Training and experience in software implementation, code and design review, and failure root cause analysis.
  • Designing for availability, observability, scalability, testability, and recoverability.
  • BS/CS in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of software development experience with modern programming languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in media production pipeline infrastructure services used in film, animation, and game development studios.
  • Familiarity with 3D data packaging, rendering workflows, and tools used by artists and content creators.
