About the position

The Senior Software Developer at Lumen is responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging software solutions of moderate complexity. This role requires collaboration within a team environment while also being able to work independently. The developer will enhance existing software and implement new features, ensuring adherence to agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement computer programs to enhance and update the computer system.
• Design and code programs, testing and documenting changes and enhancements.
• Analyze programming requests to assist integration with current applications.
• Assist in grooming solutions with the engineering manager and team members based on requirements.
• Develop code during sprints as per requirements, perform local testing, and review code with team members.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies and ensure agile processes are practiced.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and impediments.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in applications and implement fixes.
• Follow robust DevOps practices and use CI/CD for application deployment.
• Lead production deployment and conduct post-deployment validation.
• Conduct training for end users, providing technical expertise and support.

Requirements

• Experience in application development using Java Microservices and Spring Boot framework.
• Experience in developing REST APIs using microservice architecture and GraphQL.
• Experience in developing applications that operate using Confluent Kafka.
• Experience with RDBMS like Oracle, MySQL, SQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
• Experience in implementing CI/CD, preferably using GitHub/Jenkins.
• Experience in deploying applications to Kubernetes/Docker.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction.
• Effective collaboration skills with stakeholders and team members.
