About the position

The Senior Software Developer will support the custom J2EE Identity and Credential application, focusing on modernization and collaboration. This role requires significant experience in software development, particularly with J2EE and modern development stacks, and involves working remotely with occasional travel to the corporate headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Support the custom J2EE Identity and Credential application.
• Implement ideas and strategies to foster modernization and collaboration.
• Develop applications using Java, J2EE, and related technologies.
• Create graphical user interfaces using AWT, JFC (Swing), HTML5, and other frameworks.
• Work with RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres.
• Utilize Docker and other tools for application development.
• Develop microservices and participate in Agile team processes.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 6 - 10 years of experience in Software Development in large, complex organizations.
• Proficient in Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, JNDI, JDBC, Servlets, and related technologies.
• Experience with graphical user interfaces using AWT, JFC (Swing), HTML5, and CSS frameworks.
• Familiarity with RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres.
• Experience with EKS, AWS services, Git, Concourse CI, Docker, and NoSQL.
• 2+ years of experience in Docker and other tools.
• 2+ years of experience developing microservices.
• Prior experience working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience working in a CI/CD Solution environment.
• Ability to iterate in problem-solving and learn in an open-source setting.
• 2+ years of experience with modern DevOps Stack and processes.
