About the position

Qorvo is currently seeking a Senior Systems Developer to join its Greensboro, NC IT Manufacturing Systems team. This is an exciting, multidimensional role and opportunity for growth within an experienced, high-performance IT group which designs, develops and supports semiconductor manufacturing systems for Qorvo, a rapidly growing technology company supplying components to the wireless and communications industries. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with experience in software development processes, programming, and business process analysis with a keen focus on rapidly acquiring subject matter expertise and capabilities to apply skillsets and resource time across the IT SDLC with a focus on the Core Manufacturing Execution Systems platform arena. In addition, strong problem solving, verbal and written communication, inter-group coordination, multitasking, and teamwork skills are required. Software development and troubleshooting are the primary focus, but experienced developers will help shape the architecture of the affected manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain software development for Greensboro site as member of IT Manufacturing Systems group. Domain of group includes manufacturing execution system (MES) and factory automation.
  • Work with cross functional business process owners to define and develop technical solutions to business problems.
  • Work with cross functional IT groups in support of systems, infrastructure and integration.
  • Plans, designs, develops, tests, tunes, maintains, and documents computer programs and platforms.
  • Adheres to coding standards, pattern-based development principles and participates in coding reviews to help maintain and preserve established, best practices coding outcomes.
  • Produces detailed specifications from provided architectural concepts and design direction and produces necessary test evidence for user acceptance testing hand off.
  • Provides very responsive engagement and ongoing production support in conjunction with team members as and when necessary in a flexible work environment across all system platforms of involvement and knowledge to serve all tactical and sustaining needs of high volume 24x7 manufacturing.
  • Implements integration solutions for disparate systems and assists in consultations with other departments for the selection and use of programming and productivity tools.
  • Accepts project coordination and technical direction from lead project team members to meet client business unit needs.
  • Maintains awareness of technology trends and is able to identify opportunities for recommendation and potential assimilation into systems solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • 5+ years professional software development experience.
  • Experience with semiconductor or related manufacturing systems (MES, Camstar, OpCenter, Factory Automation, SECS/GEM, Hume integration software, Linux shell scripting) is a plus.
  • Working proficiency in programming in at least two of (C#, C++, Tcl, VB6, .NET framework, .NET Core, MVC, web application and web services deployment).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Proficient in developing, consuming web services.
  • Data file parsing, sharing and transfer mechanisms, XML/JSON file formats.
  • Proficient in development and architectural best practices for responsive web apps/sites (using HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JQuery) as well as frameworks (such as React, Next, Angular, etc.).
  • Working proficiency with relational database design, SQL query construction, stored procedures (preferably MSSQL, ORACLE experience is a plus).
  • DevOps experience using GitLab or GitHub.
  • Strong customer service orientation. Ability to communicate with operations and engineering personnel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in direct user contact and consulting activities.
  • High level of comfort working collaboratively in a team-based, knowledge sharing environment.
  • Able to operate autonomously and accurately on each assigned element of the systems life cycle to deliver precise results for the team.
  • Adept at business knowledge acquisition, comprehension, and retention to drive continually enhanced expertise levels and a passion for service improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with our internal customer.
  • Excellent organizational time management skills and ability to reprioritize.

Nice-to-haves
