About the position

The Senior Software Developer will play a crucial role in enhancing and optimizing trading processes within an energy corporation. This position involves collaboration with various teams to develop cloud-native solutions and analytic tools that support commercial activities, ensuring efficient software development practices are followed throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with commercial trading teams to re-engineer and optimize trading processes and models.
• Evolve cloud-native solutions to promote integration within the framework.
• Liaise with the data science team to create next-generation analytic tools.
• Expand software to support commercial activity including supply and demand, positions, and market data analysis.
• Oversee problem areas and follow the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of prior professional programming experience preferred.
• Must understand object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies required.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code preferred.
• Previous experience with Git, Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Microservices, Spring, shell scripting, messaging busses, React, or Angular preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MATLAB preferred.
• Knowledge of Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL preferred.
• Knowledge of Python or Java required.
