Responsibilities

• Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
• Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
• Designs customized software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
• Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, coordinating database development as part of a team.
• Researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various applications.
• Sets operational specifications and formulates and analyzes software requirements.
• Designs embedded systems software.
• Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience specific to Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS).
• Experience with Java in Linux environments.
• Ability to develop program logic for new applications or analyze existing applications.
• Experienced with coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications.
• Ability to analyze requirements and maintain, test, and integrate applications.
• Ability to solve a range of problems independently.
