About The Position

The Senior Software Development Engineer will play a crucial role in building the next generation of AI infrastructure at Zillow, which powers various products including home value estimation and personalized recommendations. This position involves crafting scalable infrastructure for the machine learning lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and working with advanced technologies to enhance Zillow's AI capabilities.

Requirements

• A degree (BS+) in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's in Computer Science is preferred.
• 4+ years of experience with Machine Learning, data, and/or backend web services & infrastructure.
• 1+ years of experience with platform solutions.
• Experience working with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for collaboration across organizational boundaries.

• Vision and passion to make Machine Learning development easier for ML Practitioners.
• Experience developing sophisticated software systems that scale to millions of users with production quality deployment, monitoring, and reliability.
• Experience with Databricks for data and/or ML use cases.
• Experience with building low latency, high reliability Web Services (K8s, KNative services).
• Experience with Machine Learning Frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Keras, Tensorflow, XGBoost).
• Experience with modern data technologies (Spark, Hive, Kafka, Beam, Airflow).

Responsibilities

• Craft and build scalable infrastructure for orchestrating the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle from experimentation to production jobs and services.
• Work with technologies such as Kubernetes, KNative, Argo, Spark, Kafka, and Tensorflow.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and cross-functional teams to implement technical vision.
• Build data systems and stores that power ML models in collaboration with the data infrastructure team.
• Scope and deliver platform solutions in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
