About the position

The Senior Software Development Engineer role at UPS involves building next-generation web, desktop, and mobile applications that support UPS Store and other operations. The position requires expertise in cloud-native applications, particularly using Angular and the Azure stack, and focuses on delivering technical solutions in an agile/scrum environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate computer software that provides business capabilities and solutions.
  • Provide systems life cycle management to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of technical solutions.
  • Research and support the integration of emerging technologies.
  • Develop program logic for new applications or modify existing applications.
  • Analyze requirements, test, and integrate application components.
  • Ensure successful implementation of system improvements.
  • Define application complexity drivers, estimate development efforts, create milestones, and track progress.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and provide functional expertise.
  • Stay current on industry trends and coach others in agile engineering practices.
  • Integrate timelines and milestones across projects and evaluate project progress.
  • Conduct deep reviews of data to identify root causes of problems and recommend solutions.
  • Creatively test and maintain software applications using various development tools.
  • Possess knowledge of integration features among applications and technology platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience with Cloud Native web applications on Angular and Azure stack.
  • Experience with C#, .NET Core, SQL Server, TypeScript, JSON, SOAP, REST, Azure, DevOps, MVC, Web API services, Microservices.
  • Experience with design patterns and version control systems like TFS and/or Git.
  • Experience with service-oriented and Microservices architectures and Domain-driven design.
  • Experience conducting and participating in code reviews and working with distributed teams.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum concepts and understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Self-motivated with a solution-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent education and work experience.
