About the position

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure, ensuring that the cloud remains operational and efficient. This senior software development engineer role focuses on creating and managing software services that support network configurations and validations, contributing to the evolution of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Intent Based Networking (IBN) within AWS. The position involves collaboration with a diverse team to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that enhance network management and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software services for network configuration, verification, and management.
  • Build production quality software that meets the team's definition of done.
  • Participate in sprint demos, reviews, and planning sessions.
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Principals to innovate and simplify processes.
  • Work with management, customers, and other engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
