About the position

The Senior Software Development Engineer for AWS Intent Driven Network will be responsible for designing, building, and owning large-scale web services that are integral to the Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Intent Based Networking (IBN) ecosystem at Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of software engineers, applied scientists, and network engineers to create innovative solutions that enhance network management and configuration, ensuring high performance, availability, and reliability for AWS customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software services for network configuration, verification, and management.
• Build production quality software that meets the team's definition of done.
• Participate in sprint demos, reviews, and planning sessions.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Principals to invent and simplify solutions.
• Work with management, customers, and other engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
