About the position

The Senior Software Engineer position at Amazon Robotics involves developing high-performance robotic systems that can perceive, learn, and act intelligently. The role focuses on building and deploying software systems that integrate robots within fulfillment centers, contributing to the planning, implementation, testing, and monitoring of services in the robotic fleet. The engineer will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, engaging in various aspects of the robot hardware and software stack, including infrastructure software, computer vision systems, machine learning, and robotic control.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deploy software systems that integrate robots in fulfillment centers.
  • Plan the roadmap for robotic deployments.
  • Implement, test, and monitor services in the robotic fleet.
  • Create infrastructure software that integrates with computer vision systems, ML and AI models, and robotic control.
  • Engage in end-to-end ownership of decision explanation, fault detection, monitoring, A/B testing, simulation, and hardware integration.
  • Work on prototypes in the lab as well as wide-deployment systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
