About the position

The Senior Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics is responsible for developing innovative software solutions that enhance robotic systems used in Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. This role involves collaborating with a team to tackle complex material handling challenges, utilizing advanced robotics and software technologies to improve customer experiences. The position requires a strong background in software development, particularly in backend and frontend systems, and offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge robotics projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept to production-ready software solutions for robotic systems.
• Debug and optimize backend and frontend software for automated sensing systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype and deploy robotic systems.
• Lead design and architecture of new and existing systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of systems.
• Expert level skills in C++.
• Experience building robots or hardware integrated systems.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with robotic motion control systems and algorithms.
• Experience with robotic operating environments like ROS.
