About the position

The Senior Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics is responsible for developing innovative software solutions that enhance robotic systems used in Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. This role involves collaborating with a team to tackle complex material handling challenges, utilizing cutting-edge technology in robotics and software development. The engineer will work from concept to production, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that meets the needs of various stakeholders across Amazon.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept to production-ready software solutions for robotic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address material handling challenges.
• Debug and optimize backend and frontend software for automated sensing systems.
• Lead design and architecture of new and existing systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of systems.
• Expert level skills in C++.
• Experience building robots or hardware integrated systems.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with robotic motion control systems and algorithms.
• Experience with robotic operating environments like ROS.
