About the position

The Senior Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics will be responsible for developing innovative software solutions to address complex material handling challenges within Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. This role involves collaborating with a team to create, prototype, and deploy advanced robotic systems that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. The position requires a strong background in software development, particularly in backend and frontend systems for automated sensing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept to production-ready software solutions for robotic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software for automated sensing systems.
• Debug and optimize existing software to improve performance and reliability.
• Lead design and architecture discussions for new and existing systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team.
• Expert level skills in C++.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with robotic motion control systems and algorithms.
• Familiarity with robotic operating environments like ROS.
