About the position

StubHub is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Android) to design and develop next-generation technologies and complex features that enhance the consumer experience for live events. This role involves tackling significant challenges, mentoring team members, and contributing to the company's mission of redefining the live event experience globally. The position is hybrid, based in either New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA, and requires a strong initiative and enthusiasm for problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain impactful improvements across all StubHub's platforms and products.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices across our code.
• Manage individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with technical expertise.
• Mentor other team members and help increase their technical capabilities.

Requirements

• 5-6+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Extensive experience developing robust, mission-critical systems using Kotlin or Java.
• Demonstrated expertise in building software with Infrastructure, Databases, Data Processing, Machine Learning, Distributed Systems, Security, and Privacy.
• Previous experience designing and developing solutions to complex problems with significant business impact.
• Strong understanding of system interactions with the broader production environment.
• Exposure to React Native.
• Proven ability to learn other coding languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools.
• Experience owning projects from initial idea to production.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with additional programming languages beyond Kotlin or Java.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
