About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Android at PayPal, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performing, reusable code in Java and Kotlin. This role involves collaborating with product owners and engineering teams to create scalable solutions and seamless user experiences. You will also define processes and methodologies to enhance software development excellence, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high performing, reusable Java and Kotlin code.
  • Provide and receive feedback on code through pull requests and regular reviews.
  • Work with product owners to clarify technical needs during grooming and planning meetings.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers, engineers, and partner teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Define and develop processes, tools, and methodologies for software development, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of Android development experience with Java and Kotlin programming skills.
  • Understanding of mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience building applications connected to APIs - RESTful and GraphQL.
  • Practical knowledge of Android architecture.
  • Experience with a version control system and the processes of committing, reviewing, and merging code.
