About the position

The Senior Software Engineer - API Microservices at U.S. Bank is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of high-quality software solutions. This role emphasizes compliance and security best practices while ensuring minimal impact on customer experience. The engineer will work with various technologies to develop and implement microservices and APIs, contributing to a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
  • Utilize Splunk system for log monitoring, searching, and analyzing capabilities.
  • Develop client/server and web-based platforms using Java and J2EE technologies.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work in Java EE design and development.
  • Implement Microservices and API development using Java, Spring Boot, and GraphQL.
  • Engage in Cloud native development in AWS and Azure.
  • Analyze the bigger picture and prioritize across multiple domains.
  • Collaborate on all aspects of product development.
  • Work with tools and technologies including Java, HTML, Jenkins, GIT, CSS, SQL, Jira, SOAP, XML, Maven, Eclipse, Gitlab, Oracle, JSON, and PLSQL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in Java EE design and development.
  • 24 months of experience implementing Microservices and API development using Java, Spring Boot, and GraphQL.
  • 24 months of experience utilizing Splunk for log monitoring and analysis.
  • 24 months of experience in Cloud native development in AWS and Azure.
  • 24 months of experience developing client/server and web-based platforms using Java and J2EE technologies.
