About the position

The Senior Software Engineer position at Snowflake focuses on developing and maintaining backend services and infrastructure for Snowsight, the company's innovative user interface. The role involves designing common services, supporting developer platforms, and automating global service deployments across multiple cloud providers. The ideal candidate will contribute to building a highly reliable and scalable platform while also leading teams and solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain common services and features such as authentication, session management, notifications, and caching.
• Develop and maintain modules and recipes for full stack teams to leverage in building their own services.
• Provide backend environments for internal developers to iterate quickly and safely.
• Automate and manage the deployment of services across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience in large-scale cloud SaaS environments.
• Experience leading teams and solving deep technical challenges as an individual contributor.
• Deep understanding of relational databases and/or key-value stores, with experience in Postgres and Redis being desirable.
• At least 3+ years of experience in Kubernetes.
• Experience with Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, or Google GKE is highly desired.
• Good knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud computing patterns.
• Firm grasp of IP networking, load balancing, and DNS.
• Self-driven and motivated with a strong work ethic and passion for problem solving.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
