This position can be based in Bethesda, MD, or can be performed remotely. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and performance of our software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA automation, performance testing, and scripting tools for local development. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products across various platforms. You will design and execute performance tests specifically targeting frontend components, including web page load times, rendering, and responsiveness, using tools like LightHouse CI and BlueTriangle to identify bottlenecks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you design and implement automated testing strategies that align with project requirements and business objectives. You will conduct performance testing and analysis to identify and address bottlenecks, scalability issues, and potential areas for optimization. Additionally, you will design and implement scripting tools and utilities to streamline local development workflows and enhance developer productivity. Continuous monitoring and improvement of test automation frameworks, tools, and processes will be part of your responsibilities to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. You will work closely with developers to integrate automated testing into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline and participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and other agile development activities to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices. As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Your experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with developers, QA, and operations staff will be invaluable in this role.
