About the position
The Senior Software Engineer (Backend) role at Recharge focuses on developing and maintaining core services essential to the company's eCommerce platform. This position involves taking ownership of solution design and delivery, particularly in the areas of subscriptions and rewards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative remote environment, contributing to high-impact projects that enhance the user experience for merchants and their customers.
Responsibilities
- Build high-impact, high-performance, high-scale products for development teams.
- Understand roadmap priorities and write frontend and/or backend code focused on scalability, testability, supportability, and maintainability.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using technical expertise.
- Debug production issues across the stack.
- Perform thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to cultivating a positive team environment.
- Demonstrate a willingness to lean in as needed when duty calls.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant full stack development experience, particularly with Python, Node.js, and front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Demonstrable expertise with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with micro-service architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrable cloud computing experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior e-commerce experience preferred.
