The Trust and Safety (TnS) engineering team plays a crucial role in protecting our users from harmful content and abusive behaviors. This team is dedicated to ensuring that TikTok provides the best user experience while maintaining a safe environment for all users. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Trust and Safety team, you will be part of a collaborative effort to build a robust platform that supports risk and response initiatives, particularly in escalation handling. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Quality Assurance professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to develop scalable and efficient tools that align with product objectives and meet customer needs. You will also focus on improving system design and architecture to ensure high stability and performance of the services provided by the Trust and Safety team. This position is vital in helping TikTok protect its global user base and maintain public trust through innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build a highly scalable, efficient and robust trust and safety platform and tools.
• Understand product objectives to develop an easy-to-use platform that aligns with customers' needs.
• Collaborate with trust and safety specialists, experts, and machine learning engineers.
• Improve system design and architecture to ensure high stability and performance of the services.
• Work with Trust and Safety teams to protect TikTok globally.

Requirements

• Bachelor or above degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of industrial experience.
• Proficiency in designing data structures, building algorithms, and at least one programming language: python/go/php/c++/java.
• Solid user-facing product experience in building, designing, and scaling software architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in trust and safety or risk control system design and implementation is preferred.
