About the position

At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business. A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight. The Base Image & Metrics team is building the foundational software infrastructure that powers Torc’s autonomous trucks. We’re responsible for deploying operating system and application images to vehicles, as well as developing data recording solutions that capture valuable sensor and system data for validation, analysis, and continuous improvement. Our tools are used daily by test engineers across the fleet to push cutting-edge autonomy software to the road.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to our distributed data recording architecture to support sensor and system telemetry collection.
  • Enhance and maintain our image management tools that deploy application and OS images across autonomous trucks.

  • Experience working on safety-critical systems (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a drive to learn and grow.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with distributed systems or data pipelines.
  • Background in Linux kernel development or low-level OS tuning.

  • Familiarity with network protocols and systems integration.

Benefits

  • A competitive compensation package that includes a bonus component and stock options.
  • 100% paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for full-time employees.
