About the position

The IT Senior Software Engineer at Nelnet is responsible for designing and developing software solutions that meet user requirements. This role involves coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process, while also mentoring less experienced engineers and advocating for improvements within the team. The position emphasizes collaboration in a dynamic Agile environment, focusing on continuous growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Researches, designs, implements, and manages software applications based on user requirements.
• Writes automated tests for various levels (unit, integration, end-to-end) to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Maintains and develops existing applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification.
• Works within an Agile environment, responding to change quickly and adapting to evolving requirements.
• Is positive and solution-oriented with team members and stakeholders.
• Continues to update technical knowledge and skills.
• Provides guidance to other engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Required proficiency in C# .NET, Visual Studio, Angular, MongoDB.
• Strong technical competency.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.
• Logical, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
