About the position

New Balance is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Innovation team, focusing on the digital transformation of US manufacturing through automation, robotics, IIoT, and AI technologies. This role involves developing cutting-edge software solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams, with a strong emphasis on Computer Vision and Machine Learning.

Responsibilities

• Building API interfaces to Robotics and Computer Vision solutions and integrating them into real-world automation solutions for factories.
• Aiding in the design and development of software infrastructure.
• Writing high-quality, maintainable code with a focus on performance.
• Researching new technologies and executing technical proof of concepts.
• Designing and coding custom solutions using open source and cloud services, in collaboration with other engineers.
• Working with AI experts to develop cutting-edge AI solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience in Python.
• 2+ years of Linux software development experience.
• Experience in API Development is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of web technologies (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Node.js, React) is preferred.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Passionate about exploring new technologies and teaching fellow team members.
• Experience working in an Agile (e.g., Scrum) environment.

• Effective visual communicator, able to convey complex problems to stakeholders using visual collaboration tools.
