About the position
The Senior Software Engineer (Backend Full Stack) role at Viam focuses on building and maintaining the backend and frontend features that support cloud-based functionality for managing fleets of robots. This position is integral to enhancing the platform's capabilities, enabling remote configuration and control of smart machines, and ensuring a seamless user experience. The engineer will collaborate closely with a small team, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the overall architecture and technical roadmap of the application.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend and frontend features for cloud-based functionality.
- Implement communication protocols for system architecture.
- Maintain login and user management flows on the Viam website.
- Support the team in identifying and triaging priority tasks.
- Write and review code, providing feedback on technical designs.
- Mentor and teach junior engineers.
Requirements
- Experience with both backend and frontend development, with a focus on backend.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and scalable web application design.
- Proficiency in Golang and MongoDB.
- Experience with frontend technologies such as Svelte and Vue.
- Ability to adapt to evolving product goals and flexible planning.
