About the position

The Senior Software Engineer, Data Analytics at Zscaler will be a key member of the Business Insights team, responsible for developing product features related to data mining, transformations, enrichment, and analytics. This role involves analyzing complex datasets to derive actionable insights that drive continuous improvement, collaborating with product managers and UX designers, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop product features related to data mining, data transformations, enrichment, and analytics.
• Analyze and interpret complex datasets related to workplace and application usage and user activity.
• Translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations that drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend teams to understand requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Refactor code for maintainability and reusability.
• Lead and provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development, data science, machine learning, and/or analytics with a focus on solving real-world problems.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling techniques, and predictive analytics.
• Proficiency with data science tools such as Python, R, TensorFlow, SQL, and related libraries.
• Experience in Java programming for developing microservices.
• Strong experience in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Experience with Cloud big data technologies such as Azure Data Explorer, Hadoop, Spark, or distributed computing frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Published research or contributions to the data analytics or data science community.
• Experience working on large scale telemetry data analytics.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Certifications in relevant tools and technologies.
