About the position

The Software Engineer on the Data Infrastructure team at Patreon will work within a collaborative environment to manage and enhance the company's data platform and tools. This role focuses on fostering a data-centric culture, driving large-scale initiatives, and establishing best practices for data management. The position is available for hybrid work in San Francisco or New York, or fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage and build out the data platform and suite of data tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams.
• Drive a data-centric culture at Patreon.
• Work autonomously on large green field initiatives.
• Define data best practices within the company.

Requirements

• Expert in Python (or equivalent) and SQL/Spark.
• Experience managing Data Infrastructure including warehouses and lakes (e.g., Big Query, Snowflake, Delta Lake).
• Familiarity with orchestration tools and libraries (e.g., Airflow, DBT).
• Experience architecting large, scalable systems.
• Knowledge of messaging systems, event systems, and pub/sub architectures.
• Experience building platform tooling for data self-service by engineers and data scientists.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists and product engineers.
• Comfortable taking on project management responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Creator Economy or similar industries.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance best practices.
