About the position
The Senior Software Engineer - Data & Insights at Tyler Technologies is responsible for building and maintaining cloud software solutions that facilitate data access for government entities and their constituents. This role involves working on scalable, distributed systems that impact society by enabling data-driven leadership in various cities and states. The position emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and the development of high-quality software that meets customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship high-quality customer-facing features.
- Maintain and improve a distributed cloud platform running on AWS.
- Provide direct mentorship to junior engineers on the team.
- Collaborate with other engineers, engineering management, designers, and product owners to design and architect solutions to our business problems.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
- Experience with at least one statically typed language such as Scala, Elixir, Java, Go, or C++.
- Significant frontend experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, particularly with React/ES2016, Redux, jQuery, Typescript, and Ruby on Rails.
- Strong track record of shipping software in ambiguous situations.
- Experience in owning all aspects of a system lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, metrics, and monitoring.
- Ability to enable other engineers' success through code contributions and mentorship.
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and NoSQL stores, with bonus points for Elasticsearch and AWS experience.
- Comfortable working in a heterogeneous development environment with multiple languages and technologies.
