About the position
The Senior Software Engineer at Capital One will play a crucial role in integrating products and features into the company's API external developer portal. This position involves collaborating with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies. The engineer will also stay updated on tech trends, mentor peers, and deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute as part of a world-class engineering team to ensure seamless integration of products and features into Capital One's API external developer portal.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in technology communities.
- Mentor other members of the engineering community.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans financially.
- Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, along with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
- 1+ years of experience with Angular.
- 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
- 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
