About the position

The Senior Software Engineer - Developer Productivity role at Snowflake focuses on enhancing the productivity of frontend developers within the UI Platform team. This position is pivotal in improving the velocity, quality, and consistency of user experiences by optimizing frontend build processes, enhancing observability, and defining testing strategies. The engineer will also mentor other developers and contribute to the overall productivity of the Product Experiences Engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Improve frontend build and hot reload times for faster feedback loops.
• Enhance frontend observability to provide insights for performance and stability improvements.
• Define testing strategies and type safety approaches to enhance code and product quality.
• Build tools to facilitate rapid prototyping, building, testing, and debugging of product experiences.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for other frontend developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Solid, Svelte) and build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack, Rollup).
• Experience in building and maintaining tooling for cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve client-side performance issues.
• Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
