About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Enterprise Frameworks & Platform Engineering group at Capital One, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative technology solutions that address complex business challenges. This role involves collaborating with Agile teams to design, develop, and support full-stack applications, utilizing a variety of programming languages and cloud services. You will also have the opportunity to mentor other engineers and contribute to the technology community, all while driving transformation within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
• Work on diverse technology projects to create solutions that meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go.
• Implement and manage Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, as well as Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance user experiences and empower customers financially.
• Stay updated on tech trends and experiment with new technologies, while mentoring other engineering community members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
• 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
• 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
