About the position

The Senior Software Engineer, Front End at Capital One will be responsible for developing and maintaining front-end applications using modern technologies such as Angular, Node, and Java. This role is crucial for supporting the Auto Dealer Financials team, which manages the core ledgering and accounting of Auto Dealer Reserve Accounts. The engineer will work in a collaborative environment to drive transformation and modernization of payment systems, ensuring accurate and transparent accounting for dealer partners.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Perform software development on Front End Applications leveraging a test-driven development pattern.
• Own the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
• Share passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for users.
• Utilize programming languages like JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript, and Java, along with open source frameworks and RESTful web services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, React, Angular, Node, TypeScript, or Java.
• 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
• 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
