About the position

The Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) position at Amplitude focuses on enhancing the Data Management team's capabilities by developing user-facing applications that ensure customers have discoverable, understandable, and secure data. The role involves owning various features related to data planning, instrumentation, discoverability, and privacy, while driving business impact through effective project delivery and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business impact through owning end-to-end delivery of projects
  • Operate with a focus on rapid but sustainable delivery through proper sequencing and experimentation
  • Advocate for the right priorities and communicate effectively with engineering leadership
  • Contribute to definition of SLAs and uphold operational excellence for applications and services
  • Contribute to the technical direction of the team, product, and systems
  • Get involved in performance optimization and scaling efforts
  • Work with Product Management and Design to generate and turn novel ideas into engineering solutions
  • Drive engineering discussions and best practices
  • Mentor and contribute to the success of other engineers on the team

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience developing interactive, user-facing applications and websites
  • Strong frontend experience with React and Typescript/Javascript
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to synthesize customer input and architectural knowledge to create outsized engineering impact
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Constant desire to learn and grow in the field of web development
  • Experience with defining, managing and scaling AWS solutions via infrastructure as code tools
  • Familiarity with Javascript, Typescript, Node.js, Python
  • Interest or experience in technical leadership of an engineering team
