About the position

As part of Walmart's Global Sourcing Backend team, this position involves building highly scalable and reliable APIs, services, and applications to enhance the purchase order management system. The role requires independent handling of critical software monitoring issues and troubleshooting business and production challenges. The team focuses on customer, associate, and business needs, collaborating with Walmart International across various countries.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3-4 members and demonstrate exceptional development skills.
• Provide expert advice and guidance in the application of information and best practices.
• Identify short and long-term solutions and timelines for system improvements.
• Review and approve proposed solutions, implementing new architectural patterns.
• Perform design and code reviews of changes to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Support business needs by responding to user questions and concerns regarding systems.
• Troubleshoot business and production issues, performing root cause analysis and developing solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building scalable applications.
• Strong backend development experience with Python, including integration of Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) models.
• Experience in developing APIs using frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.
• Proficient in frontend development using React, including state management libraries like Redux or Context API.
• Experience with Node.js for building API gateways and managing requests.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as Jenkins and Maven.
• Strong expertise in cloud technologies like Azure and GCP.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
