About the position
The Senior Software Engineer in Hardware Engineering will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying applications that ensure a healthy production environment for Bloomberg's hardware systems. This role involves solving complex technology problems and building high-quality software platforms that support Bloomberg's critical business objectives, particularly in managing hardware in data centers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy applications for maintaining a healthy production environment.
- Accountable for telemetry, observability, and change management of applications.
- Analyze and improve the reliability and performance of platform applications.
- Adopt and apply modern open source technologies for systems infrastructure development.
- Participate in conferences and meetups to stay updated with technology trends.
Requirements
- BA, BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field.
- 4+ years of proven experience with at least one object-oriented language, preferably C++, Python, or Java.
- Strong Linux fundamentals or a strong desire to learn.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment tools.
- Exposure to containers (OCI, Docker, Podman).
- Experience with application performance analysis.
- Experience with GPU performance analysis.
- Experience with Linux Device Drivers.
