About the position

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications. This role involves collaboration with other developers throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality code and staying updated on industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other developers to design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing codebase.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java programming language - 7-10 years of experience
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and principles.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot microservices, and Docker.
• 2 years of experience in Google Cloud Technologies (GCP) - GKE, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Big Query, and Cloud Composer.
• Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate is a plus.
• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
