About the position

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will be part of the Fraud Machine Learning team at DoorDash, focusing on developing and implementing machine learning solutions to prevent and mitigate fraud across a large-scale logistics platform. This role involves collaborating with engineering and product teams to shape the product roadmap and mentoring junior team members. The position is expected to be hybrid, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Develop production machine learning solutions to enhance the safety and efficiency of the shopping experience.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to influence the product roadmap using machine learning.
• Mentor junior team members and lead cross-functional teams to achieve collective goals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience in developing machine learning models and deploying ML solutions to production.
• Proficiency in PyTorch or TensorFlow or similar deep learning frameworks.
• M.S. or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Operations Research, Physics, Bioinformatics, Economics, or other quantitative fields.
• Familiarity with a JVM language such as Kotlin or Scala.
• Knowledge of multi-task learning, LLMs, and anomaly detection.
• Experience in the fraud domain.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with classical machine learning techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud-based ML deployment.
• Knowledge of data engineering practices.
